Mother's Day

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM !!!

I am so excited about the three gifts I asked for to get for Mother's Day this year. The books I heard about over on Nan's blog, "Letters from a Hill Farm" and the kitchen item is something I have been wanting to try for a while. My husband ordered all three items from Amazon and they arrived yesterday so now I just have to wait for Sunday to arrive and then I get to begin the fun of reading and baking. Two of my favorite activities and what all of us Mom's should do on OUR special day - have some fun doing what we love - Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!!

1) This is a novel of outer and inner journeys and an homage to the power of storytelling. The Forgotten Garden is fi lled with unforgettable characters who weave their way through its spellbinding plot to astounding effect.

2) Lovejoy has chosen to focus on animal life in the garden, including hummingbirds, caterpillars, and dragonflies, but her informative and witty prose also covers traditional plant care. The very titles of her sketches convey pleasure in the vibrant country landscape and the life that teems within it: “The Bumble Bee Rumba,” “Faeries in the Fuschias (sphinx moths),” “Holiday Feasts for the Birds and the Beasts,” and “Conversations with Sunflowers.” This compilation truly is—to borrow another of her titles—“Something to Crow About.”

3) The Silpat®is a must for any patisserie chef or home baker. The flat, non stick baking pan liner is ideal for baking cookies and patisseries. Place the silpat on any surface when working with sticky materials such as batter, taffy, caramel, or anything your imagination allows. It won't stick, and it will save you a mess! Silpat®does not need to be greased, saving both time and money.
